Remember years ago when a cell phone was unheard of? I remember being in high school with a pager. I was on my way to work in the morning when I realized that in this day and age it would be hard to live without technology. Walking out of the door, I grabbed my digital camera because I might want to take some pictures. I grabbed my BlackBerry. It’s like AMEX, don’t leave home without it. I grabbed my iPod. Plug it into the car radio and it becomes more effective than a compact disc changer. Almost forgot, grab the laptop and I’m ready to go. I finally get to work after sending tweets (from Twitterberry) about sitting in traffic only to get an IM with a link about the new BlackBerry Bold soon to be available. I think I’m going to go camping with no phone and no iPod for a few days. I’ll probably come back crazy.
As a Project Coordinator/Marketing Specialist at Pop Labs, I meet lots of business owners who sign up for our service mainly because they are seeking results. They’ve either tried SEO/SEM and didn’t do it correctly, don’t have time or simply don’t know how to do it. Majority of them tried and failed at it which resulted in loss revenues and time loss. I also realized that even though they are business owners, they don’t understand the sales process and how to “close deals” of potential new clients. I was probing for ideas for a new SEO rap, and I thought, why not do one on how to get conversions and how to close the deal. Read the rest of this entry ?
Ladies & Gents, I’ve did it again. We’ve just recorded Paid Search 101 which is a rap similar to Link Building 101 except it is focused on..well..paid search and the basics of setting up a PPC campaign. I was going to stop after Link Building 101 which was the first one but I had to do one about Social Media and then I received a request to do one on Paid Search. Read the rest of this entry ?
The other day, I was at home watching the Rockets barely win by 3 while updating some profiles I have when I realized, I have a lot of different profiles. For the most part, the bios are the same but everything else is different. I use Firefox as my primary internet browser because of the available plugins that help with SEO and the tabbed browsing. While updating and saving, I realized I had about 10 tabs open. I began closing them and looking at what they were and I realized I may be addicted to social media. Read the rest of this entry ?
Optimization…what is it? Everyone is saying it. Does it mean something or is it just a “buzz word”? To me, it is both, especially since I work at a SEO & Social Media Consulting firm. According to “Merriam Webster”, optimization is basically the art or process of making something, regardless of what it is functional and effective. I began to start thinking outside of the box with this term “optimization”. In regards to search engines, it is basically skillfully designing and coding a website inside and out to be highly functional and relative in the search realm and highly effective in converting site visitors. If Google, Yahoo, etc… can find it easy enough because it is relative to the searched key word or phrase and therefore list it on the 1st page then the optimization was done well. I’m employed at a company called Pop Labs and basically my role is two-fold. I am a project coordinator which means after an account is sold by our sales team, they are assigned to me or one of or PC’s and we manage the account. I make sure that the client understands exactly what we are going to do, how we are going to do it, why we are going to do it and how they will benefit from it. I’m also on our marketing team. During the development of the new account, we research the client’s business, competitors, keywords, etc…and begin developing the online marketing campaign. A major part of what we do is optimization. Read the rest of this entry ?
