My sports opinions…thus far.

December 11, 2007

Well, it’s about time for me to give an update on this world of sports that seems to captivate my attention so much. First off, SportsCenter is almost the best thing since sliced bread. I must say, being the huge Rockets fan that I am, discouraged is how I’m feeling about the season thus far. T-Mac is out again, this time his ankle. When will it be his back? We continue to lose games that we should win or better yet, blow teams out. We lost to Philly and Toronto recently. Rick started Steve in each of those games. I said it before and I’ll say it again, Steve shouldn’t start at point guard. He is a better scorer than play-maker. He should continue to bring him and Mike off of the bench when Yao goes out. Hopefully, they’ll turn it around and get it straight before the All Star break. How about KB and the Lake Show? As much as I dislike him off the court, I ride with him on the court. They are looking alright this season although they probably won’t make it out of the first round. Read the rest of this entry ?

Where is Steve Francis?

November 8, 2007

First, I can’t be mad at the current standing of our division.  The Rockets are number 1.  They should be 5-0 though.  They folded against Dallas when we had them beat.  I think an appearance from Steve would’ve sealed the deal.  I’m not sure what is going on in practice or behind closed doors but they need to do something.  I like the fact that Mike J is ballin right now and Skip is having a better season, but in order to be a true threat we’ll need that third threat and currently he is keeping the pine warm.  I’d hate to lose him to a team like the Lake Show or even Miami who could benefit from an All Star guard at a cheap price.  I heard he wasn’t “fitting” in the offense that Rick has implemented.  The offense is a run and gun high post based offense that I think Steve should flourish in.  I guess it’s cool right now, because we are winning, but, we all know that T-Mac won’t give us a full season and Yao is already tired.  I believe with Steve in the rotation, T-Mac might last a full season and Yao could rest more on offense.  Don’t forget he once led the league in rebounds from the guard position.  Anyway, good job Rockets on the season thus far and I’ll be patiently waiting for my boy to get in the lineup, somewhere…ya dig.  Peace & Blessings!

Steve off da Bench

October 5, 2007

I have to be one of the biggest Houston Rockets fan in the city of Houston so Steve coming back in my opinion is a great help at the guard position. In a rather heated debate with my good friend C. Bake, I chose the position of bringing Steve off of the bench for either guard position. Steve Francis He personally felt that Steve wouldn’t even help and definitely shouldn’t be at the point, based on his performance last time he was in Houston. Read the rest of this entry ?
